Enjoy this in-depth Whistler business interview with Amos & Andes – Whistler Sweater Shop Owner / Manager: Hilary Davison. YouTube Link to Interview: click here
Hilary grew up on a farm in England wearing jeans, T’s, and SWEATERS her Granny made.
She never imagined leaving the beautiful rolling green hills and a drafty British home. However, she left in 1988 and here we are in one of the most spectacular places on the planet, amongst acres of snow-capped mountains, lakes, rivers and forests. Like most Whistler residents, she loves to ski in the winter and mountain bike in the summer; however, she has plenty of friends here who do neither, it’s just a great place to enjoy!
Hilary opened Amos & Andes Whistler in 1994. Her unique, signature shop is easy to find along the Village Stroll. It’s great for Hilary and her team to welcome the many repeat global visitors and local customers. Also, in recent years, she has expanded to reach out to connect with you via the internet via easy order process through the website, subscribers to the Newsletters and following updates on many social media accounts.
The Whistler Sweater Shop is open and following Covid-19 health protocols. Although, if you cannot see them at the moment, please order from Whistler’s favourite, unique, friendly store, Whistler Sweater Shop, on line to keep the memory, close and warm.

Previous Press Release:
June 4, 2020: Whistler, B.C. – The Whistler Writing Society is excited to announce the Whistler Writers Festival is transitioning to an online festival of literary workshops and readings October 15–18, 2020. Known for its intimacy and encouraging thoughtful discourse, the festival is seeking to build the same atmosphere in a virtual setting.
“We want to keep our audiences safe, yet still bring the literary arts to the community that has supported us for the last two decades,” said Stella Harvey, Founder and Artistic Director. “Although it feels like we’re breaking new ground going virtual, the festival remains true to its roots, by connecting storytellers and audiences for conversations even though we can’t get together this year in person.”
The Whistler Writers Festival will feature many of its popular readings and workshops with celebrated authors from across Canada, in sessions that encourage dialogue between participants. There will be opportunities for Q&A during and after readings, masterclass workshops, digital face-to-face pitching sessions, and marquee events such as the Saturday Night Gala and Sunday Brunch. Headliner details will be announced in August.
Now in its nineteenth year, the Whistler Writers Festival takes place October 15-18, 2020 and brings together the very best Canadian and international authors online for a weekend packed with readings, workshops, speaker panels, spoken word events, music and more.
And here is a recording of the livestream can now be found on YouTube at https://youtu.be/2rIqAedbQPU as well as the Signature website on the book pages for After Light, Never, Again, and Finding Callidora.
Back to the previous interview notes I had with Stella in Spring, 2020:
Some of the best outcomes of the Whistler Writers Festival may be for a future writer / author to get their work evaluated and obtain a potential publishing company book writing opportunity!
Over the years, Stella and family have enjoyed living in Whistler and walking the local nature trails, cross country + downhill skiing. Tip for life and career: she finds insightful ideas written in a journal notebook for later reference when creating a novel, and also helpful for the event to-do lists!
Another great community give-back is that Stella offers her author consultation services, through a booked appointment at the Whistler Public Library …. who knows where her insights, guidance will lead!
Connect with Stella Leventoyannis Harvey’s website and we’re hoping that you’ll donate, sponsor and/or participate at the future Whistler Writers Festivals!
